Navi Mumbai mishap: Audi plunges into ditch in Belapur after driver follows Google Maps; rescued | Navi Mumbai News

NEW DELHI: A woman was rescued early Friday morning after her car plunged into a ditch in Belapur, Navi Mumbai, reportedly while she was following directions from Google Maps. The incident occurred around 1.00am when the driver, heading towards Ulwe in an Audi, apparently took a wrong turn under a bridge and ended up in the water.Authorities believe the route suggested by the navigation app misled her away from the correct road. “We received a call about a car that had fallen into the Belapur ditch. Our team, along with marine security guards and local police, responded immediately,” an official said. The woman, who was alone in the vehicle, was pulled out safely with the help of a rescue boat operated by the marine security team. Police have informed senior officials and are examining the circumstances of the incident, including whether poor lighting or road signage may have contributed.
