Celebrities accused of misleading youth

In this recently filed case, celebrities and social media users with millions of followers are being duped by deceptive advertisements such as “You can earn money for free” and “You can win too”, and celebrities are accused of inciting young people to participate in illegal betting apps. These apps have defrauded many young people and caused them to lose money.

Case shakes Tollywood

The case has created a stir in the Telugu film industry. As promoting betting apps through social media is considered a new type of crime, it will serve as a warning to many celebrities in the future. Furthermore, there is a growing possibility that the central government will formulate new guidelines to legally regulate betting apps.Meanwhile, it appears that the celebrities who were summoned for questioning are planning to present their response through lawyers. It is expected that many will argue that they were involved in these advertisements without their knowledge and are not guilty. While it is impossible to predict the outcome of this case at this time, it is an important case that will give the film industry a second thought on advertising regulation.
