14 Detained in Hyderabad Ganja Bust: Couples Including Child Caught in Decoy Operation | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: A decoy operation against drug addicts netted 14 persons when they allegedly came to buy ganja from a peddler near a bank at Gachibowli on Saturday. Among them were two couples, including one with their four-year-old. The husband was detained, but the wife and child allowed to go. The peddler gave police the slip.The drug abusers included students, IT professionals, an architect, a dental technician and an employee of an advertisement agency. The anti-narcotics wing EAGLE laid the trap after coming to know that a ganja peddler, Sandeep from Maharashtra, would be meeting customers in Gachibowli. As cops were aware of the location shared by Sandip, they nabbed some of the customers as and when they approached the peddler. The code word for the arrival of the peddler was “Bhai baccha agaya bhai”, which meant that the peddler is in the city with ganja. The consumers, most of them in the 22-34 age group.
