NEW DELHI: In a landmark moment on Saturday, India’s Test veteran Cheteshwar Pujara will ring the iconic five-minute bell at Lord’s ahead of Day 3 of the third Test between India and England. Pujara becomes one of the few active Indian international cricketers to be given the honour of ringing the bell at the historic venue.India women’s team all-rounder Deepti Sharma had previously rung the bell in 2021, becoming one of the first Indian women cricketers to do so.Located just outside the Bowlers’ Bar in the Lord’s Pavilion, the bell has been rung by cricketing legends, dignitaries, and sporting icons since the tradition began in 2007.
Pujara has featured in 103 Test matches for India, scoring 7,195 runs across 176 innings at an average of 43.60. His highest score is an unbeaten 206.
