‘Chicken’ dispute turns fatal: Man run over by car in Madhya Pradesh; mother witnesses horror | Bhopal News
BHOPAL: A 32-year-old man was run over and killed by a car in front of his mother following a heated argument over buying chicken in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh district on Friday evening. The incident took place near Ajmeri Garden under the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station between 6:30 and 7:00 pm.The deceased was identified as Rakesh Raikwar.Police have arrested the accused, Aqueel, a resident of the same locality, and seized the vehicle used in the incident.According to Kotwali police station in-charge Manish Kumar, the two men had a prior dispute that escalated during the argument over chicken, ultimately leading to the fatal attack.“After the argument, the deceased was walking with his mother when the accused, who was driving a car, hit him,” Kumar said.“Rakesh fell to the ground. The accused then drove the car over him again, with both front and rear tyres passing over his body. His mother, who was present, saw the incident and called for help. Locals reached the spot and took Rakesh to the hospital, where he was declared dead,” the officer said.Police said the situation is under control. A post-mortem is being conducted, and further investigation is underway.
