SHILLONG: The prime accused in the murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, Sonam also had business interests with Raj Kushwaha, besides being entangled in a ‘love triangle’ with the latter. The investigation into the case has indicated this so far, the police said on Tuesday. It was also ascertained that both of them have their own companies and wanted to further their business, East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem told reporters. He added that the duo has admitted to the crime (murder of Raja) and also about their relationship.“These are the only things which apparently appear to be in their interest to actually get rid of Raja because they want to further their business. They have a relationship. Nothing beyond this has come out,” the SP said, adding, the police were exploring all possibilities. He added that three other persons accused of destroying a box of Sonam containing ‘vital evidence’ in a flat in Indore, and who have since been arrested, were likely to be brought to Shillong on Thursday for further investigation. The couple from Indore was on a honeymoon trip to Sohra, where Raja was killed by three of Raj’s accomplices on May 23 in the presence of Sonam. The body of the victim was retrieved from a gorge. The SP said that a charge sheet in this regard would soon be produced in court.
