Air India plane crash: For 44-yr-old, a rejig in travel plans proved fatal | India News

VADODARA: A last-minute change in travel plans proved tragic for Kalpana Prajapati (44) from Gujarat’s Manjalpur.Kalpana had got her visa weeks ago, but chose not to travel immediately, choosing to wait for her sister-in-law’s visa to be approved, too. It was this delay that caused her to board the ill-fated flight from Ahmedabad.“She was waiting for her sister-in-law, Ranjan, to get her visa so they could travel together,” said Kalpana’s friend, Tejal Rana.Ranjan’s visa, however, got rejected, and Kalpana booked her ticket for June 12. “Had she stuck to her original plan, she would’ve been in London or back already,” said Rana. The two close friends spoke just before Kalpana boarded the flight. She is survived by her husband, Raju, and two sons – one of whom, Vraj, lives in London. “She was excited about meeting her son. Now, he is flying back for her last rites,” Rana said.
