NEW DELHI: The Red Fort and the Delhi secretariat received bomb threats on Monday, prompting security agencies to launch search operations.According to the Delhi Fire Service, the Delhi Secretariat received a bomb threat via email. “The fire department received the call at 12 noon, after which teams were sent to the spot. Nothing has been found yet,” officials said.
The official account of the Delhi Legislative Assembly on X posted and confirmed the threat.“Today, the Hon’ble Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Shri @Gupta_vijender ji, has received a bomb blast threat via personal email, in which a threat has been issued to blow up the Delhi Legislative Assembly with a bomb,” it said.“The relevant security department has been informed about the matter. In this regard, the Hon’ble Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly has demanded immediate necessary action while providing information about the email received by the Delhi Police Commissioner,” the Delhi Assembly posted.Earlier, bomb threat emails were also received at two schools in the national capital on Monday morning, triggering immediate search operations. However, nothing suspicious has been found so far.The threats were sent to the Army Public School in Dhaula Kuan and the Air Force Bal Bharti School in Lodhi Road.The Delhi Fire Service said that security agencies, including police and bomb disposal squads, have been conducting thorough searches at both school premises.Officials confirmed that nothing suspicious has been detected during the search operations.The incidents come amid heightened security concerns in Delhi, with authorities treating all such threats with utmost seriousness and carrying out comprehensive checks to ensure the safety of students, staff and the public.
