India Post GDS recruitment 2026: The Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, has invited applications for India Post Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) recruitment 2026. The registration process is currently underway and will close exactly next week on February 14, 2026.This recruitment drive aims to fill 28,740 vacancies across various postal circles in the country. The posts include Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak. Eligibility criteria

To apply for India Post GDS recruitment 2026, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Selection process

There will be no written examination or interview for this recruitment.Selection will be done purely on the basis of Class 10 marks. A merit list will be prepared by converting the marks into percentage. Candidates with higher scores will be given preference.

The application fee is ₹100 for candidates belonging to the General, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories.However, female candidates and those belonging to SC, ST, PwD, and Transgender categories are exempted from paying the fee.
