Born on June 27, 1990, in L.A., he played college football at Utah State before the Seattle Seahawks selected him in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. During his acceptance speech, LB explained the impact. “She’s the reason why I’m standing up here,” he said at the NFL Honors. “She believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself.”That loss led Wagner to create the FAST54 Phenia Mae Fund, which focuses on stroke education, awareness, and patient support. The fund partners with Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, Cedars-Sinai, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and Kaiser Permanente. In 2025, Wagner expanded the effort to include pediatric stroke research and care at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C.His work does not stop there.
