NOIDA: A second-year BTech student from Jhansi died after jumping from the fourth floor of a hostel in Greater Noida, police said. The victim has been identified as Udit Soni, 20. The incident occurred at EZ Stays hostel. Police said the student jumped after the hostel manager scolded him for coming back drunk with friends. “Around 11:30 PM, a student committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of EZ Stays Hostel in the Knowledge Park police jurisdiction. Upon receiving the information, the police immediately took the body into custody, conducted formalities in the presence of relatives and sent it for postmortem,” a police statement said.Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
