Die-hard RCB fan dies of heart attack during victory celebrations in Karnataka

BELAGAVI: A 28-year-old man succumbed to a heart attack during Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) IPL victory celebrations at Avaradi village in Mudalagi taluk on Tuesday night.The deceased, Manjunath Irappa Kambar, a devoted RCB supporter, reportedly collapsed while dancing with friends at Sangolli Rayanna Circle in the village during the post-match festivities. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in nearby Mahalingapur, but doctors declared him dead.A passionate cricket enthusiast, Manjunath went all out to celebrate RCB’s appearance in the final. He arranged a large LED screen for public viewing and spent the previous four days preparing for the event, reportedly skipping meals and sleep to ensure everything was in place. He also purchased fireworks and colour powder for the festivities.Manjunath was the founder of a local cricket team called ‘Avaradi Warriors’, which actively participated in village-level tournaments. Witnessing his favourite team lift the IPL trophy sent him into a joyous frenzy, during which he collapsed from cardiac arrest.Manjunath is survived by his pregnant wife and a six-month-old daughter. His father, Irappa, is a farmer. The news of his untimely death has cast a pall over the village, with friends and family mourning the sudden loss of a young life full of promise.
