500 companies of central forces to stay on in Bengal after results, says EC
The Election Commission will retain 500 companies of central armed police forces in Bengal for post-poll law and order duties until further notice. This decision comes in light of the state’s history of post-poll violence, with an additional 200 companies to remain until counting concludes to secure EVMs and counting centers.
