TIRUPATI: Three people were charred to death and more than 15 sustained injuries after a private travel bus caught fire in a horrific road accident on the National Highway near Sirivellametta in Nandyal district on Wednesday night.The injured passengers were taken to Nandyal Government Hospital in 108 ambulances for treatment. The bus was identified as an AR BCVR Travels vehicle.The bus, travelling from Nellore to Hyderabad, suffered a tyre burst, lost control, crossed the road divider, and collided with an oncoming lorry. The impact was so severe that the bus immediately caught fire, killing the bus driver, the lorry driver and the cleaner on the spot.Passengers panicked as flames engulfed the vehicle. In a brave rescue, a local mini-van driver broke the bus windows, helping 36 passengers escape safely and preventing a larger tragedy.Nandyal SP Suneel Sheoran visited the accident site to investigate the cause. Roads and Buildings Minister BC Janardhan Reddy expressed condolences to the bereaved families and instructed officials to provide the best possible medical care to the injured.
