2 minor sisters in Lucknow raped by stepfather: Mother ignored pleas; accused was earlier jailed for killing their biological father | Lucknow News

LUCKNOW: Two minor sisters, aged 12 and 14, in Gomtinagar have accused their stepfather of rape. The survivors allege that the accused subjected them to heinous acts for several months. The sisters reached out for help on Friday by calling 1090.Gomtinagar police registered a case based on the allegations and detained the 35-year-old stepfather. The survivors are yet to undergo medical examination. Inspector Brajesh Chandra Tiwari of Gomtinagar said the accused works at a mall in Lucknow. On Friday morning, the terrified sisters made a distress call to 1090, revealing that they managed to escape from their home. They alleged that their stepfather raped them for several months and would beat them if they resisted, the police said. The survivors further disclosed that their stepfather would come home drunk every day and sexually abused them. The sisters said they had informed their mother about the abuse, but she dismissed their claims and instead reprimanded them, instructing them to remain silent. The 1090 team informed the Gomtinagar police which immediately took action. The police spoke to the sisters, and based on their allegations, registered a case against the stepfather under charges of rape and other relevant sections. SHO Tiwari told TOI that the sisters informed them that their biological father was murdered 10 years ago, and the stepfather was accused of the crime and was arrested in the case. After his release from jail, he began living with the girls’ mother and later married her. The survivors claim they never liked their stepfather as he was imprisoned for their father’s murder. During interrogation, the accused denied the allegations and claimed he was being framed.
